  ‘Itose’ machiya house is a traditional Japanese holiday home nestled in a Kanazawa neighborhood once lined with samurai residences. You’ll be within walking distance of Kanazawa Station and Omicho Market, the city’s historic food market with over 300 years of history. Itose brings together the craftsmanship, design, and cultural heritage that define Kanazawa today. Slide open the entrance door to an interior framed by ancient jindai-sugi wood and contemporary artwork. The first floor features a spacious living room with a painted folding screen, along with a dining area and kitchen that overlook a seasonal tsuboniwa garden. Continue down the hallway, shaped by classic machiya proportions, to reach a Western-style bedroom with a queen-size bed facing the garden and a bath area with a large hinoki cypress tub. The second floor is arranged into two connected machiya sections, each accessible by its own staircase. In the front section, you’ll find a Japanese-style bedroom accented with Kutani-ware, a Western-style bedroom with a king-size bed and desk, and an additional shower room and toilet. The back section offers a Japanese-Western bedroom with tatami flooring and the choice of futon bedding or a queen bed. With four bedrooms in total, Itose comfortably welcomes groups of up to 11 guests.
