Immerse yourself in the tradition and beauty of this 120 year-old machiya. As you walk through the front door, marvel at the sky-high ceiling and exposed wooden architecture above. A classic feature of machiya houses, this open space leads you into the kitchen and Japanese living room adorned in calming 'akane' red. Gather with your guests in the living room, and admire the hand-woven 'ajiro-tenjo' wicker ceiling and look out onto your very own private 'tsuboniwa' garden. Relax in the aromatic ‘hinoki’ bathtub, and in the bedroom upstairs with high ceilings and classic woodwork. The 2F features a Westen-style bedroom with exposed ceiling beams, and a small Japanese tatami room.
