  Just a minute from Takayama Station and within walking distance of the Old Town, you will find two private machiya homes: ‘Asatoyuu Asana’ and ‘Asatoyuu Yuuna’. Each traditional Japanese townhouse is reserved for one group per day, offering a spacious retreat in the heart of Takayama with convenient access to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Shirakawa-go and the hot spring region of Okuhida. Inside, a private garden with a grand ‘matsu’ pine tree reflects the natural beauty of Hida-Takayama, while walls painted in a soft red hue inspired by Takayama Jinya, together with natural light, create a calm and welcoming atmosphere. Each home features a living–dining area with a large table, a fully equipped kitchen, a large, relaxing bath, and three bedrooms in both Japanese and Western styles. Modern comforts such as a washing machine, air conditioning and floor heating are available throughout. Whether reserved individually or together, these machiya provide an ideal setting for couples, families, and groups to experience a private and memorable stay.
