Take a few steps from the main streets, and discover a hidden entrance known only to locals. This hidden entrance will lead you down an atmospheric pathway lined with historical machiya houses until you reach ‘Momohana-an’, your very own private Kyoto machiya. Slide open the door to reveal a spacious machiya with a layout and design that reflects a quintessential machiya house. A tatami area ('misenoma') that was once used as a space to conduct business is now the perfect place to sit and relax. A spacious kitchen will allow you to prepare light meals during your stay. Enjoy a quiet morning admiring one of 2 serene inner gardens - a unique feature of this machiya house. When there are more than 3 guests, the living room can be converted into a sleeping area. Upstairs you'll find a Western-style bedroom, and a Japanese room. Close the sliding fusuma doors to create 2 private areas, or keep them open to create a spacious bedroom.
