Tucked away within the historical Mibu neighborhood of Kyoto, this machiya retains the quintessential Kyoto architecture style known as “unagi no nedoko”. While the exterior may seem compact, enter to find a deceivingly spacious house that stretches long and back. Retreat to the luxurious bathroom after a day of sightseeing or relax in the spacious living room. On the 1F you’ll find a modern kitchen, Japanese-style room, sofa seating and more. Upstairs are two bedrooms, each with a double bed. Both are decorated with washi paper art, shoji screens and exposed wooden beams that give a sense of Japanese tranquility in a modern setting.
